FUD being spewed: when people post about other ant

Brilacidin is an ENTIRELY NEW class of antibiotics. So, bacteria have not been exposed to it before, so there has not been an opportunity for them to develop resistance. It is also unlikely that bacteria will ever be able to develop resistance, because Brilacidin's mechanism of action essentially kills them on contact.
When people wring their hands about supposed "competition," the very first thing to do is see if it's just a variation on an existing drug. If it is, right away it has less value than Brilacidin. And by the way, the supposedly competitive drug is an acne drug. How is that a competitor drug for a serious skin infection -- ABSSSI?
And as far as the whole issue of supposed "competition" in classes of drugs: it's is always good for there to be more than one treatment option. As human beings, we should all be glad if there is more than one option. What if it's YOU or a family member who doesn't respond to one drug? Wouldn't you want there to be another option for treatment?
