Way back when I thoroughly enjoyed reading the works of Freud, Jung, and especially Erich Fromm. To my way of thinking Escape From Freedom, The Art of Loving, and Beyond the Chains of Illusion were and still are masterpieces. I certainly never agreed with Fromm's democratic socialist political point of view but that never kept me from reading most of that which he had published and found each of his books I read to be a "page turner". Dr. Fromm passed away in 1980, the same year as Sartre, and I doubt that he is now considered anything more now than a historical footnote by students of psychology today. I pretty much think that the works Jung and Freud have suffered the same fate but maybe that's as it should be.
