I was in a Denny's one time, my favorite.
And a guy came in with a deer rifle. He ordered us down.
I was the closest to him. I squatted on one knee only
and stayed ready to go. He had his rifle pointed at the hostess
1/2 turned away 2 feet from me. If he had made one more negative
move I would have maybe killed the sob but definitely on the spot.
Not much makes you madder than seeing something like that:
direct imminent terror threat to men. women, children, friends, etc.
Instead nothing else bad happened and I let
the guy who wanted to leave with his gun, go.
Leaving with only a few hundred dollars.
A funny thing:
There was an armed off duty deputy sheriff there
having dinner with his family. He glanced at the
guy and said to himself "that is a nice deer rifle."
He said after he just about shit. His family there.
That was hesitant an instant too long.
He never could get into a good position.
