Common Core: Obama's assault on children
Americans who love freedom, the Constitution and the Judeo-Christian values upon which this country was founded will have to get busy – and quick – if those principles are to survive over the long term. The stakes are really that high.
As the establishment knows well, that fight starts and ends in the classroom – and Common Core is the current battlefield.
The Obama administration has made no secret of its desire to control your children’s education from “cradle to career,” as Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan often puts it.
Top officials have also been very specific in terms of the radical ideas and values they plan to hammer into the pliable minds of America’s children.
The U.S. Department of Education “is taking a leadership role in the work of educating the next generation of green citizens and preparing them to contribute to the workforce through green jobs,” Duncan boasted in a 2010 speech to a “sustainability” summit.
Do you send your children to school to indoctrinated as “green citizens” so they can have “green jobs”? If you are like most parents, the answer is no.
But that matters little to the Obama administration and its extremist allies in “education reform” – the United Nations, crony capitalists hoping to profit, population-control zealot and Common Core financier Bill Gates, and the whole corrupt educational establishment.
Using taxpayer-funded bribes, Obama’s Education Department has been very successful so far in imposing its controversial “Common Core” national standards across most of America.
Though often ridiculed by critics as ObamaCore or Communist Core, the scheme is no joking matter.
In fact, the problems with the new education regime are so serious that the only two subject-matter experts selected to serve on the Common Core Validation Committee both refused to sign off on it. Their comments should serve as a blaring alarm to the American people.
Let’s be clear: Common Core, the program that has ignited a groundswell of passionate resistance from teachers, parents, students, taxpayers, and experts across the political spectrum, is a major assault on America’s children.
One state lawmaker in New York with an education background told me it was “state-sponsored child abuse.”
But it is hardly the only assault.
“Crimes of the Educators” reveals how the architects of America’s public school disaster implemented a plan to socialize the U.S. by knowingly and willingly dumbing down the population, a mission now closer to success than ever as the Obama administration works relentlessly to nationalize K-12 schooling with Common Core.
The problem did not start with Common Core.
It began more than a hundred years ago with utopian John Dewey, who wanted to transform America from what he considered to be an “individualistic” society into a “utopia” with no private-property rights.
His strategy was as simple as it was diabolical: Destroy the literacy of American children using ridiculous methods to teach children to read English as if it were Chinese. Fearing a violent reaction if his plot were discovered, he warned his co-conspirators that “change must come gradually.”
The dangerous agenda to nationalize and destroy real education does not end with Common Core, either. The utopians have much bigger plans.
As education giant Sam Blumenfeld and I show in our new book, “Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians Are Using Government Schools to Destroy America’s Children,” Common Core is just one component of a long-term plan to literally dumb-down students. All of it is in preparation for a radically different type of society than the one envisioned by the founders.
Global tyranny is the end goal. It may sound outlandish, but the mountains of evidence are all around you.
In a speech to the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, Obama’s education boss, Duncan, called the radical global government-promoting outfit one of the administration’s “global partners.” Partners in crime would be a more accurate description.
The U.N.’s education agency has a long and troubling history of promoting extremism on a global scale. Today, it is doing so even more openly, trying to push a radical plan called “Education for Sustainable Development” on all of humanity, in addition to pornographic sex-education and global “education” standards.
Toward those ends, the dictator-dominated U.N. entity, which in 2005 signed an education agreement with Common Core ringleader Bill Gates, even developed what it refers to as the “World Core Curriculum.”
As Duncan put it in his speech, “education,” or at least what passes for it today, “is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Again, do you personally send your children to government school so the Obama administration can turn them into “green citizens” to “change the world”? Almost certainly not.
Yet, by their own admission, that is exactly what U.S. and U.N. education officials are doing.
Parents and taxpayers expect schools to teach their children to learn how to read. But as far back as 1993, a federal literacy study revealed that a majority of U.S. adults could barely read.
The decade before that, Ronald Reagan’s National Commission on Excellence in Education warned that if an unfriendly foreign power had imposed this educational lunacy on the nation, the American people might well have considered it an “act of war.”
Since then, despite ever-growing amounts of taxpayer money showered on the education establishment, the crisis has only grown more severe. Common Core will make it even worse.
And it must be stopped.
The unconstitutional U.S. Department of Education must be abolished. Common Core needs to be scrapped. Phonics must come back. The education establishment must be exposed.
In the meantime, though, homeschooling is an excellent option for parents who love their children and value real education.
If the American people are going to have any hope of reversing Obama’s bombastic plot he described as “fundamentally transforming the United States,” that will have to begin in the classroom. After all, it may sound cliché, but children really are the future.
Obama and his allies are not kidding when they threaten to fundamentally transform our society. They know that transformation must begin in the classroom – with the minds of American children.
To stop their nightmarish plot and keep liberty alive, We the People need to understand that as well.
And education is the key.
