The article never stated he owned Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. The company was sold in the 1980's and went public. The Pabst family likely made a fortune from the sale of the company and it would be no surprise to find out they have some ownership in the company in the form of being a shareholder.
None the less, Bob Pabst a direct decedent of the family will likely always be associated with the name Pabst Blue Ribbon.
