For anyone interested in the subject of counterfeit shares and naked shorting, please read the following papers submitted anonymously to the SEC during the public comment period of REG SHO. The authors of the paper chose to remain anonymous. I believe they are most likely whistleblowers. The subject deals with the counterfeit shorting of the GSE's (10 Trillion (yes Trillion) in assets) down to zero just prior to the US Gov Takeover in 2008. Although it is not CTIX, some of the tools used are discussed, and how they circumvent FTD. We always here from a few posters on this board how there can be no naked shorts because then there would be FTD's. Yeah ok.
On a current event note. The subject matter of the linked papers has resulted in numerous federal lawsuits, and a takings claim in the Court of Federal Claims. The Obama administration has asserted presidential privilege on 11,000 docs to keep them from the public. This privilege is reserved for the Top National Secrets. The WH has said knowledge of these documents would crash the world economy and thus asserting national security. The judge has started releasing some docs, and will rule in the next month on the remainder. If it turns out that the extent of fraud at the DTCC as alleged is revealed in these docs and that the WH,US Treasury, and SEC issued the orders to counterfeit then we are in very big trouble as investors and as a nation.
