Clinton leads Trump by 4 percentage points in the most recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, with their positions with voters basically unchanged since Trump’s support surged two weeks ago. Democrats nationally remain evenly split between Clinton and Sanders.
Trump got the bump from being a presumptive nominee, with all opposition vanquished.
Once Sanders is eliminated, Hillary will see a similar bounce.
And then all base voters for both parties will 'come home'.
That's a numbers game that Trump can't win. He's insulted too many from the groups that the GOP desperately needed to make inroads with. I don't have to list them, they're the same ones who handed Obama two wins.
