I'll reiterate the facts again: The trial was designed for mild/moderate cases. The trial met its primary endpoint. The trial was a success in meeting its stated goals.
What the PR is telling us with the following statement is that the approach of only targeting mild/moderate cases was a conservative approach and the P may be able to treat the entire range of mild to severe.
"Sub-population analyses further showed greater efficacy demonstrated in patients who had a baseline IGA score of 3 (“moderate”) as compared to those with a baseline score of 2 (“mild”). Some of these patients even experienced a 3-point reduction in their IGA score, going from “moderate” to “clear.” This suggests Prurisol may be more effective in treating moderate to severe psoriasis patients to a greater degree than those patients who exhibit less severe symptoms."
Leo is essentially saying is that P efficacy may be broader than expected and that they are going to investigate in the additional trials. This is an EXTREMELY positive result. NOTHING has failed and P looks to work better than expected in the more severe cases!
The only thing that may be conceded to your point is that an additional phase 2/3 combo may be necessary in order to dial in the dosages for any/all cases of disease severity.
