I hear ones say we need to be in for the long haul

I hear ones say we need to be in for the long haul.But I'm thinking Jerry 70 years old and let's say it takes 10 years.I hope it doesn't happen but what if something happens to Jerry?Will the company be in good hands.If something was to happen.He is getting old.
