Yeah, I'm not using a platform where I can see all of the asks & bids either, so I just see the dominant ask. I've been pleasantly surprised by that before too, I guess because my bid matched up with the background ask and not the dominant ask(s) in the foreground. I don't day trade much so I never coughed up for a subscription to a pro trader's platform. Hopefully Rocky Mountain High Brands will come through and I won't ever need to anyhow! lol
