Tiny great link and your post could very well have partnership implications with Google and NTEK using UltraFlix most definably! Googles virtual reality ecosystem (DAYDREAM) is integrating with 4K. Interestingly enough D. Foley had already finished the math to do stereoscopic 4K streaming 360 video under 20mbps before he left. The industry professionals say that it needs at least 50mbps but if you recall NTEK was streaming under 10mbps 4k in the fall of 2013 and today we are streaming under 4mbps with stunning quality. Just before his departure they had a meeting with the company that operates the professional x265 encoder license. During the meeting Foley showed them the Good the Bad and the Ugly streaming but didn't tell them what they were looking at compression wise. One of the software compression engineers knew the movie well as he owned a Blue Ray copy of it and it was one of his all-time favorites. The engineer did a bunch of still image pauses and he looked over the artifacts and asked NTEK if it was 15 or 20 to which Foley replied 4 MB’s and it completely blew this engineer away! NTEK has some incredible technology and 4k 360 streaming simply will be coming before we know it. I believe NO ONE will be doing it with the perfection NTEK has established years ago. I predict NTEK very well could be one of if not THE company that captures all the attention for CES 2017 demonstrating VR stereoscopic 4K 360 streaming!
