BE AWARE....I have been in and out of the Market f

With in this last year I got back in,again with a Margin Acct. as well as Lrg Cap. I also entered the world of Micro Cap for the first time. I have positions in both, Lrg and Micros.
I am currently with TD Ameritrade. ALL Micro Buys are made in CASH Only out of my Margin Acct...( without any marginability ).
However..!!!!....TD Ameritrade ( though already paid in Cash ), Reflects the Overall Margin Acct, INCLUSIVE of Micro Stocks.....!!!!!!...And Reflects in Maintenance Balance Requirements.....EVEN Though NONE of These stocks were Bought on Margin...????!!!!
Dan asked me once why I like to spend the cost of 2 beers at the end of the day on occasion to "spike" the price by a "tick" ??(paint).......And I explained it can effect the Overall Balance in your account.......IT DOES....Especially if you are Heavy even in just several holdings in my case out 21.
To Not allow Micro Purchases on Margin.. but to have TD reflect Micro's on the Over All Margin Acct.....Is a Double Edge Sword....Double Indemnity....!!!!!!
I received a "Margin Call" and explained that the "Call" is entirely based on Positions Paid in Cash...!!!!!....Their explanation was to pay on the Maintenance Balance and if the stock increases I can request a refund.....?????!!!!!!!
I also opened up a Separate, (but joint), TD Acct. that is Cash period, But is Not effected period by the Margin Acct........In Retrospect I Really wish I had kept ALL Micro's SEPARATELY in my CASH Acct...!!!
And ALL Lrg Cap in my MARGIN Acct.
Just a Thought...And you Might want to consider moving Micro's to a Separate Cash (joint) Acct. so your Broker isn't merely "holding" your money during Dips.....That's My .0017 Cents for The Day........ACCUMULATE....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
