Notice on the Acquisition of Specialty Coating Systems, Inc. in the U.S.
On Tuesday, December 29, 2015 (U.S. Eastern Standard Time), KISCO completed the acquisition of Specialty Coating Systems, Inc. (Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S., CEO: Terry Bush; hereinafter "SCS" .
KISCO and SCS are engaged in the parylene coating business, which has been used for several decades in the electric and electronic industries for rust prevention, insulation and protecting electronic parts and substrates from corrosive gas and chemical agents. Parylene material is approved as a biocompatible substance by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the U.S.) and used as the best material for surface passivation of coronary artery stents, cardiac pacemakers, cochlear implants and artificial eyes. It is a reliable coating used in the medial industry, which has strict quality requirements.
KISCO manufactures for parylene coating materials at its own plants and by leveraging this advantage, it has been developing business with the "diX" brand for about 18 years in 10 branches all over the world.
On the other hand, SCS is a pioneer of the parylene coating business and is known as a leading company in the world's parylene market. * What is parylene coating?
Parylene coating collectively refers to paraxylene resin coating. It can coat the entire subject matter uniformly and thinly (about 1–50 μm) at room temperature by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The coating formed has excellent insulation, moisture proofing and chemical resistance characteristics.
