Senate approves bill to allow 9/11 victim families

The House would still need to approve the bill, which was sponsored by Sens. John Cornyn, a Texas Republican, and Charles Schumer, a New York Democrat. It passed the Senate by voice vote.
The Saudi government has threatened to sell billions of dollars in U.S. assets if Congress approves the bill. Cornyn called that threat, reportedly delivered in March by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, “hollow.”
