The FAA's process makes no sense what so ever.... but literally Delta Airline could buy N706BL today, do a few minor maintance upgrades and fly the plane with passagers without a Mini Evac! If an Airline has been certified in a certain model of aircraft, that airline can add as many planes as they want as long as it is the same model and it passes C and D checks from what I have gathered from sources in the airline industry. Meaning any airline could buy Baltia's plane and use it if they have been certified in 747-200's! Makes a whole hell of a lot of sense right! Wrong.... Makes no sense!! That's why it's Bullsh*t that Baltia's application was declined over these slides! If I was Baltia I would find a newer 747-200 that was out there and lease it to get certified. Then once certified start flying N706BL after to shove it down the FAA throat! JMO though!
