Robert Tonner's fashion career started in 1975 and in 1991 he formed Robert Tonner Doll Design. Robert Tonner Doll Design saw exponential growth in its first year. By the end of 1992, the Company was well on its way to becoming a prosperous enterprise. In 1992, the overwhelming demand for such a small doll company resulted in only a fraction of the original orders to be filled. Over the years, Robert Tonner Doll Design began to grow the size of the Company to accommodate the demand. This growth led the Company to change its name to The Robert Tonner Doll Company.
In present day, Robert Tonner dolls are some of the most beloved and sought after collectible products on the market today. Robert Tonner and his team produce the highest quality and most detailed licensed and non-licensed collectible figures. The designs of Tonner’s dolls are always on the cutting edge and have kept collectors on their toes, as many items sell out quickly.
Highlights:
• In 2006 Tonner and Warner Bros teamed up to designed the “DC Stars” Collection featuring figures based on superheroes from DC Comics such as Batwoman and Harley Quinn.
• Tonner and Marvel teamed up in December of 2010 to create dolls based on Marvel super heroes, which became a big hit with collectors!
• Tonner designed special collector dolls for the films Harry Potter, Spider-Man 3, and Twilight.
