Same thing applies.. NOT INVESTMENT ADVICE as in.. not investment advice.
SCIE has a distribution agreement with PENTAX. If an acquisition were to ever happen, I do not believe PENTAX would actually buy SCIE. Instead, HOYA is the main company and PENTAX is a division of HOYA. So technically, any acquisition would probably come directly from HOYA and not PENTAX.
What does HOYA do?..
Quote:
HOYA Corporation (7741:Tokyo) is a diversified, multinational company and leading supplier of innovative and indispensable high-tech and healthcare products. HOYA is active in two main business segments: The Life Care segment encompasses health care areas such as eyeglass lenses and the operation of contact lens retail stores, as well as medical related areas such as intraocular lenses for cataract surgery, medical endoscopes , surgical equipment and artificial bones and implants.
Important..
Quote:
Demand for minimally invasive treatment among medical professionals is growing . HOYA develops medical endoscopes that enable early diagnosis and treatment under the PENTAX brand.
So, as you can see, anything related to endoscopes and 'PENTAX' is owned by HOYA. PENTAX is the brand name for the medical endoscopes.
Did I mention this is NOT investment advice? As in.. do your own DD and never buy, hold, and/or sell based off of any information found in online posts.
So the question is.. Has HOYA ever acquired other companies?
You bettcha!

HOYA announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in Wassenburg Group, an automated endoscope reprocessing (AER) market leader in the Netherlands. This strategic acquisition enables HOYA through its division PENTAX Medical to give its global customers complete access to a wider portfolio in the field of flexible endoscopy
IF, and that's a big 'IF', HOYA were to ever acquire SCIE, I think it would have similar terms to the Wassenburg Group acquisition.
For the past several years, HOYA has been acquiring company after company. Their website explains why:

We continued to expand our footprint in emerging markets

The North American market is one area where HOYA can expect major growth going forward.
And so, this post is not predicting an acquisition of SCIE. Do not buy more shares based off of this post. This post is not investment advice. Currently, SCIE is not even at a penny and this post is just for fun as we wait things out.
This post shows that HOYA is actively working on expanding their markets around the world; including America. It just so happens that Spectrascience is in America, owns emerging technology, is working with PENTAX, and PENTAX is owned by HOYA. Either way, time will reveal everything.
And don't forget:
Spectrascience is showing on the FRONT webpage for the Medtech conference in 2017 where major INVESTORS match up with promising companies. I'm not making this stuff up. Check it out for yourself:
