I won't discount Trump and completely count him out because he has been steam rolling the primaries and picking up even evangelical support. What I do not think he will be prepared for is a substantive policy debate against a polished, career politician in Clinton. Trump will not shake Clinton, however he has proven that he can be zapped (see Trump U) and his barking back at those real claims.
Once the meat and potatoes of a head-to-head debate begins, one candidate will more than likely lay out well planned out and rehearsed initiatives (never mind that she may not be able to follow through) and the other may just wind up throwing insults and slinging mud, which will show that Trump doesn't have the demeanor, character, integrity or any statesmen like qualities to hold the highest office in the land. It's a shame too, because I do agree with several of his ideologies. If it were Paul Ryan, or even Marco Rubio (who I really liked), my center position would be swinging right.
