Let's get the obvious out of the way. This isn't to say what happened to this other company will happen to SCIE. What this DOES show is that having a licensing agreement with Duke can be beneficial and if SCIE has a plan and sees it through, why cant this happen to them as well?!
Check it out. Here's the initial agreement:

Quote:
Under the terms of the agreement, the company has the right to Duke's object and source code, to incorporate the software in its current and future medical visualization products, and to make all necessary enhancements and upgrades. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
I bet this is similar to SCIE's agreement. SCIE probably has the right to Duke's technology built by Adam Wax and others.
..and here's the buy out for $18 per share:

This is huge! Toshiba probably didn't even know this tiny company existed before it got the licensing agreement with Duke! And with Spectrascience now being associated with Duke university, this will open MANY eyes to the WavSTAT4 and Spectrascience!
You know, unless being associated with a university which has a $7 BILLION dollar endowment is 'bad'. I see this is the very beginning steps, as in the first step, towards being acquired by PENTAX or Olympus. Imagine reading a PR saying SCIE got bought out for $10 a share by PENTAX.
I'm loving this agreement. Now we get to look forward to yet ANOTHER PR stating more about the agreement which will only put more eyes on SCIE!
And the best part about the agreement between Duke and Vital Images. Read what Duke said about the agreement:
Quote:
Carl Ravin, chairman, Department of Radiology, Duke University Medical Center, said, " Duke has invested heavily in the development of new radiology network technologies , including our DICOM software libraries. This relationship with Vital Images demonstrates that we have developed a high quality, high performance implementation of DICOM standards. We are pleased that they selected our software to include in their leading-edge Vitrea
system. "
Duke invested heavily in Oncoscope's technology as well . This new relationship between SCIE and Duke, once again demonstrates that Duke has developed a high quality, high performance technology for the diagnosis of Barrett's Esophagus! I can imagine that Duke, more than anyone, is now interested to watch SCIE succeed with their technology. Because if and when they do, it only brings more eyes to the University!!
Talk about a symbiotic relationship!
BOOM!
PS : Progress. MA lines closed closer together AGAIN!!!!
