Don't brokerage houses combine individual orders i

Don't brokerage houses combine individual orders into blocks??? If so, you could have multiple individuals using the same platform (..example scottrade..) for a larger bulk trade making a 20,000 share move instead of 4 individuals separately @ 5,000 shares per person. Am I way off on how that works?
