I've been using Etrade for several years and haven't had one problem. I really like them.
Stay away from TDAmeritrade if you trade a lot of OTC stocks. I missed some nice ones, before I moved my account to Etrade, because I couldn't trade them from TDA (some BS about a DTC chill which other brokers don't have; has to do with "paper" certificates, I believe).
