With regards to a short attack or perceived one y

You will see an exorbitant amount of shares placed on bid - like when I was in DYN we did a convertible note with pricing within 3 days -- suddenly instead of 100K on both bid and ask most days - suddenly 10MM shares appeared on ask - that spooked the buyers as they backed off and were watching or selling in fear -- as the bid dried up they kept walking that 10mm ask block down -- we went from 4.72 to 2.7 by pricing date 2 days later.
Also remember those might not of even been real shares as with High frequency trading once a real buyer shows up - magically that ask disappears
It's not a real offer but rather an illusion to keep buyers away so they can drive down price
Hope this helps shed a little light how shorty plays his magical game
