LOL! One of my neighbors called me a few weeks ago asking me to explain again why I needed her to send me a check. I told her it as not me and she said it was because my number came up on her caller ID. It was definitely my cell number so I called Verizon. They said it was someone spoofing my number and there was nothing they could do. Verizon did assure me that spoofing could not result in any charges to my number.
"OT: also beware, crooks spoof the Caller I.D. so that the call appears to be from your bank, or some other legit organization soliciting donations, so that they can steal your info. Do not believe ANY number and name that comes up on your caller I.D." - Drano
