Putin is the head of a failed petro-state that is suffering financially from lower oil prices. Obama jawboned the Saudis to keep up production, which further drove down the price of a barrel of oil and kept prices low.
That was directly aimed at Russia to punish them for the Ukraine and Crimea takeovers. What, you wanted NATO to open fire?
Pooty's out of Syria, poorer than when he went in. Dead Russian troops from all 'theaters' have trickled back into Russia.
