The problem with these reports is that most experts will tell you that the short volume report for otc stocks does not mean the same thing as stocks on the big boards. The rules for how reporting company stocks are handled versus non-reporting companies is also different. While it can be valuable to watch the short volume reports the numbers that are reported do not translate into any kind of an exact number of shares shorted. Just because the report says 30% short on a day with 10mm shares traded, does not mean that there were exactly 3 million shares sold short. It is a VERY convoluted system for buying and selling int the OTC and nobody really knows the rules that the MM's have to follow. The MM's have been given a lot of leeway in how and what they have to report.
