That group coverage no longer has pre-existing conditions' as a disqualifier for coverage, or as a reason to drop someone from coverage, nor are their limits on lifetime coverage.
Both of those reforms removed the biggest reasons for bankruptcy due to health care costs.
The people who did suffer are caught tin the equivalent of the Medicare Drug coverage 'donut hole
Medicaid, ACA Exchange health care coverage with subsidies, employer covered insurance and Medicare.
What's missing? A single payer CHOICE for those caught in the donut hole. Private healthcare through private healthcare insurance companies remains and competes with single payer.
That's the way it could have been in the insurance companies had not lobbied single payer out of the ACA Bill.
Imagine the completive effect on premium prices and co-pays and deductibles with that competition?
All of the proposed health insurance plans going back to Nixon had single payer and the above listed reforms.
By the way, do you want to see those reforms go away with a repeal of Obamacare?
You can't retain them without the expanded base of those covered under the ACA. Can't do it. Which is why there is no credible GOP repeal and replace plan that preserves the reforms everyone likes.
