there are many 1970's themes that are very popular

if you want to know the full story, a retro busch beer can design was the original reference point for the new label. that label has sold many millions cans. the current busch beer cans are a throwback design to their label in the 1970's. i find its a classic design and easily my favorite of the many busch beer labels.
with that as a starting point you can see how we got to where we are right now. the color palate shift was done to represent the flavors. it was down and dirty. most people love it. a few dont. as roger said, there was a peer review process and lots of people got their two cents in and elements were changed and added.
my own personal take on the label is that it represents a very serene setting. the sun setting behind a mountain range and pine trees flanking a reflective lake in the foreground draws me into the scene. i can sense the big pike swimming right below the surface and i'm about to cast a line in and get a strike. there is mist settling in the valley at the base of the mountain. the label evokes a cool vibe and it represents the brand name well. the black tea, in particular, has a very nice lavender mountain range in the distance. those mountains are an electric color not unlike what you might see at the early onset of your shroom pizza.
there are elements of the label i'd want to change. i think its not uncommon to have that opinion. i'm not sure if there was a single version of any label that would satisfy everyone. someone would always find something they didn't like. however, the decision was made that this label will sell millions of cans and satisfy the corporate store buyers and to that end i 100% agree. someone said it looks like something you'd see on the bottom shelf at walmart. i know i'd be thrilled to see this in a walmart. new beverages start on the bottom shelf.
sales can be huge this year as large box stores order in large bulk. this is the first time RMH has a product to shop in the box stores and the company appears to be putting people in place to expand their brand and get this job done. this should be an interesting year.
