I don't recall this topic being covered at orientation so I thought I would post something about it here. One of the business owners of one of the accounts I signed yesterday owns three other stores in a county in Indiana just south of Chicago, IL (Lake County to be precise). The business owner asked if anybody had purchased the rights to this county, yet. I didn't think anybody had, but to be on the safe side I contacted Don Cunningham from Specialty Marketing Systems. The message I left for Don, I obviously didn't convey the right message to him. He thought I was asking him about referring someone his way in order to purchase the rights to this area. In reality the store owner just wanted to get the product in those stores and was willing to drive the product from the store in which I signed on to the other three locations This is the response I received in an email from Don:
Hi Ed.
You asked me about another area today and I didn’t get a chance to talk to you about it. I just wanted to remind you that we give a $2,000 referral fee.
Have you had time to pick up any new accounts?
Hope all is well with you.
Don
What caught my attention was that they do give out referral fees, for any of those dealers out there interested.
