Here's what I believe Bernie's 'socialism' entails,

Strengthen Medicare and SS by lifting the caps on earning beyond which their is no FICA with holding:

https://www1.umn.edu/ohr/payroll/tax/wagelimits/

That's how Reagan and Tip O'Neill 'fixed' both programs.

A graduated, declining rate of tax beyond the caps would certainly not only extend the lifetime of both programs, but probably pay for Single Payer health care.

Single payer was bargained away during the ACA debates, it was planned to be an adjunct to the ACA Exchanges for people who fell though the cracks or for whom even the subsidies were not enough to make health care more accessible.

Would that have been the 'camel's nose under the tent' on the way to nothing bur single payer? Perhaps. But it would have to prove to be a better more cost effective choice than the Exchanges for that to happen. The 'market' would decide.

Downside? All of those health care insurance companies would have to morph into 'home, auto, life and casualty' companies to survive.
I LIKE the GEICO and Farmer's TV ads, but I'm not sure I want to see even more ads from more companies!

Does he want to restore Glass-Steagall so that the banks can't behave stupidly again? Fine with me

That's the extent of the 'socialism' that I've heard Bernie talk about.

I see no suggestions of Gov. takeover of ANY industries which is generally considered to be the marker for 'hard core' socialism.

I think the word 'socialism' has a negative connotation from first of all ignorance of what it really is, and how much of it we have always had.

And it has become just a fear mongering insinuation of communism.

Which it's not.

P.S. Print and handout to your liberal friends so that they won't have to give you that 'blank stare' anymore.

LOL!
