Today I hit a couple different cities with locations SMS sent me. While in them I did stop at other decent locations to try and get more accounts. What I was experiencing for the most part was the owner is off for the EASTER weekend. I handed out my card and was told the attendant would hand it to the owner/manager when they returned next week.
I then traveled down the road (10 miles) from my hometown where SMS did not have any locations yet. I found out why. No store/bar/liquor store would accept the product. One liquor store in particular is a corporately owned store and I have been in the corporate office this week. The owner said it was against Indiana law for him to carry the Hangover Recovery Shot. He was of East Asian descent and obviously did not understand what the product was. I kept trying to explain but he didn't want to hear any more of what I wanted to say.
There was one smoke shop manager who admittedly said he was a heavy drinker and wanted a sample. The owner lives in Cancun but he had full control of what is placed in the store. If it works for him over the weekend he will take the product in his store. Mind you, they only sell tobacco products, which is something most cigar/smoke shops do. he will be the only store willing in this city to take the product.
I still have a lot more of the SMS locations to hit next week and then continue to hit those stores that I already hit where the owner/manager was not in.
