Thanks for the DD smack down, joey68! I also posted a rebuttal to this on the other board. The study they cited was published in 2015, but if you view the article in it's entirety (and not just the abstract) you'll see (1) it was submitted for publication in 2013, and (2) the data they use is all from 2011 and based off the old WavStat3. The company has since improved the algorithm and recent studies using the WavStat4 are extremely encouraging with a NPV of 96%. As others have pointed out a lot of R&D money has gone into perfecting this technology and it's now ready for prime time. Boom!
