The largely GOP Congressional Representative from those States are some of the strongest adversaries of SNAP benefits and Medicaid expansion, despite having disproportionally higher numbers of residents in their States who desperately need that 'help'.
Many of them had the temerity to oppose Hurricane Sandy aid despite living in States that never have to wait for FEMA help that
they so often, so predictably need.
Despite my snark I hold know animus toward Red States. I just wish TF they would stop pretending that they're the 'real Muricans and that they don't need/don't take Federal help, most of which is funded by Blue State economies/taxes.
