Event Harnesses Power of Government and Industry Thought Leaders to Address Paths to Cyber Resilience
MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/15/16 -- FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE), the leader at stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, today announced the keynote speakers of the third annual FireEye Government Forum. David DeWalt, FireEye chairman of the board and CEO, and Kevin Mandia, FireEye president, will join Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) as the event's headliners.
The FireEye Government Forum brings together cybersecurity thought leaders from across government and industry to discuss the building blocks necessary to build a resilient, adaptive, defense-in-depth Government enterprise. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and share their own experiences through informative keynote addresses, breakout sessions and peer networking opportunities.
Terry McAuliffe is the 72nd Governor of Virginia. Since being sworn into office, Governor McAuliffe has aggressively focused on building a new Virginia economy and on strengthening Virginia's strategic approach to cybersecurity. He has assumed a leadership position on issues of cybersecurity on a national level, working with his peers across the country to drive better defensive strategies, and to increase the focus on cybersecurity education and training as a component of economic development. Governor McAuliffe has made it clear that his number one priority is economic development, bringing thousands of jobs and more than $10 billion in capital investment to the Commonwealth.
The Honorable Will Hurd is serving in his first term as representative for the 23rd Congressional District of Texas. Rep. Hurd has been immediately recognized by his colleagues as a trusted authority on national security and cybersecurity issues. In a rare accomplishment for a first-time Member of Congress, he was selected to serve as Chairman of the Information Technology Subcommittee on the influential House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. In that role, he has focused intently on oversight of federal government network security and other cybersecurity issues. He has authored several pieces of cybersecurity legislation, including one bill related to federal government network security that was included as a provision within the Cybersecurity Act of 2015, which was enacted into law in December 2015. Rep. Hurd also serves on the House Homeland Security Committee, which has jurisdiction over cybersecurity issues.
Prior to his tenure in Congress, Rep. Hurd served as an undercover officer in the CIA for nearly a decade, collecting intelligence that influenced the national security agenda. Following his CIA service, he became a senior adviser with a cybersecurity firm, covering a wide range of complex challenges faced by businesses.
The event also includes a CISO panel that will focus on operations during a breach. The panel will feature Rod Turk, Director in the Office of Cyber Security & Chief Information Security Officer for the U.S. Department of Commerce. Maj. General (Ret) Earl Matthews, Vice President, Enterprise Security Solutions, HP Enterprise Services, U.S. Public Sector, is also a featured panelist.

About FireEye, Inc.
FireEye has invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. These highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-based defenses, such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and gateways. The FireEye Threat Prevention Platform provides real-time, dynamic threat protection without the use of signatures to protect an organization across the primary threat vectors and across the different stages of an attack life cycle. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 4,400 customers across 67 countries, including more than 680 of the Forbes Global 2000.
