Systems such as the stockmarket are much too difficult to model in mathematics with such tools as differential equations. As the number of variables increase the equations become much more difficult to solve and remember that quite often there are multiple solutions rather than one unique solution. Also for each variable there is uncertainty in their value at each moment in time.
Even the motions of compound pendulums are difficult to predict with differential equations. Multiple pendulum systems exhibit chaotic motion. The more links or masses in the compound pendulums the more chaotic motion occurs.
Feedback control is a most interesting field but even there as the number of variables increases toward infinity it becomes virtually impossible to control. Remember again that there is a degree of uncertainty for each variable. The classic book on the subject is Henrik Bode's Network Analysis and Feedback Amplifier Design
Good luck and GOD bless,

Thank you for dispelling the myth regarding AVXL. It runs rampant with this stock. And congrats to those who knew the promise last year and held on and are still positive over 200% profit. Imagine that. Emulate only the best investors/traders i.e. smart money here and you'll make a fortune..................$AVXL$
Count back. It went up fast the last few days but took many days of accumulation to get there. The rank down 5 day to $3.
I will agree to with you to this extent - using the popular charting methods and target points propounded by gurus and brokers does feed shorting. It's better to use multiple indicators in multiple time frames and choose the indicators that give you the most clarity personally. Back-test your method too.
Someone said that I use charts forensically, I think that is an excellent way to describe the way I use charts.
Yes they do, due to the possibility of a feedback mechanism of people using charts. It's alluring to a physicist. But they encounter the very problem I mentioned, that the use of charts themselves is random, unlike a feedback mechanism that actually follows physical principles, like, say, the physics of atmospheric weather. So even this particular quantitative modeling of markets, like all of the others, has blown up many a brilliant but misguided physicist-turned-trader on Wall Street. Markets are not physics.
I know a very successful, very wealthy Princeton-trained physicist-turned-trader. His success came after he dumped the failed modeling and applied his enormous brain to arbitraging American ADRs of foreign-listed companies, using the differential equations of finance mathematics. He realized markets aren't physics.
true... this one didn't fit the pattern the same as most do. It stayed up and went much higher before tanking. But, it did tank.
I wasn't commenting about the validity or not of nss. I was simply pointing out additional factors.
Except the stock opened at $6.30 the day of the reverse split (10/7) and didn't hit $14.83 until almost a month later (11/3)
Sorry but the week of Nov 9th there was 10 million counterfeit shares,DND* had 3x the o/s short in 2009!I know well what I speak of.Why do you keep defending the nss as non existent. AVXL was listed on 7 exchanges in Europe, right before the November news, another sign of illegal tactics.
Maybe I meant to do that

Although it may seem illogical, stockcharts can affect the future of stock prices. Computer trading is almost entirely based on charts and the velocity of stock movement. Stocks do have momentum and momentum and velocity can affect future stock movement.
I believe that some people may even be using chaos theory to predict trading patterns
I do agree however that it is better to invest based on fundamental science and logic.

I'm rooting for fellow avxl bulls too. Notice how I put AVXL, the correct ticker symbol
Couldn't resist adding shares at the close on Friday.
Nice base between $3.50 and $6 is being put in place. Any positive news over the next week or two should result in a (successful) test of the upper $6 boundary.
Like the composition of the board of directors, like the company story line, riskreward ratio at current pricing appeals to my risk profile.
I'll keep accumulating below $6.
Hopefully, we'll all look back at this price level a year or two from now from much higher levels in disbelief.
Which chart? Metric? Time length? Pattern? The chart, whichever one fancies, has as much to do with the future of a stock price as the stars (or the cards, or the Chinese year you were born, or the lines in your palm, or the innards of the bird you open up, or the arrangement of your furniture) have to do with the future. And if someone trades the stock based on his chart (and his particular chart of course being the "right" one), this adds to the volatility of the share price, the very thing he decries and deplores. And to pile on the silliness: the irony is lost on him.
But good luck. I am rooting for my fellow ANVX bulls, whether they are investors or they try to trade.
I agree with you that one should take profit after parabolic moves. At least, take the basis off.
Count the days - 7 up 5 down.
If you want more AVXL stock, then I suggest you buy more before the close of trading on Friday, March 11, 2016
Good luck and GOD bless,
George
After a reverse split, the vast majority of traders are stuck. Most brokers won't allow them to close the position for three days. That's why it usually appears to hold at first.
On top of that, once it's uplisted, it's much easier for retail to short. Under $2.50, shorting is too expensive for most.
This is why many fear a reverse. It's common for it to come right back down afterwards. And, in this case, retail didn't have any warning to get out first. The company announced the split after close of market that was effective the next morning.
Many traders I know simply exit a stock when we see or hear about an AF article to come out and reenter later if so desired. That in itself creates a downdraft. Then, others short. Fear drives a stock down quickly. One doesn't need naked shorting for a stock to tank. Fear is very efficient at doing it.
