"AQUACULTURE
Aquaculture (fish farming), the fastest growing segment within the global agribusiness category, is steadily growing at a compound annual growth rate of 9%. In the 1970s, aquaculture represented only 6% of total seafood consumption. Today, it represents 40% and is expected to rise to 50% by 2024, representing a market size of $100 billion. A recent article in Time Magazine reported, “Part of the reason for aquaculture’s growth is the increase in global demand for seafood coupled with a flat or declining supply from wild harvesting.”
Through the company's aquaculture business they are acquiring additional farmland, which provides current income as well as the other benefits of hard assets. There is a growing consensus that farmland will benefit from the increase in demand for grain, environmental pressures for alternative energy, and the impact of globalization. Most experts believe farmland is an attractive long-term investment that offers current income, capital appreciation, an inflation hedge and favorable diversification that is negatively correlated with traditional asset classes. History demonstrates that over the years investors with an allocation in agriculture have benefited from less volatility and more positive returns to offset losses from the other asset classes.
AGRICULTURE
Moringa tree farms are being developed in California. Each acre accommodates the planting of 500 to 1,000 Moringa trees, known as the “Tree of Life” or the “Miracle Tree.” Both the Discovery Channel and National Geographic have reported on the dramatic impact this super food can have on reducing global hunger. The leaves of this plant are overflowing with vitamins and minerals. They have 2 times more protein than yogurt, 3 times more potassium than bananas, 4 times more calcium than milk, 4 times more vitamin A than carrots, 7 times more vitamin C than oranges and 25 times the iron of spinach. The Moringa is also an excellent source of feed for our fish in the aquaculture centers.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
New Global Energy intends to replicate it's success in Agriculture and Aquaculture as they dedicate resources to expansion into the Health & Wellness industry. The company remains committed to innovation and technical advancement as they strive to increase revenue.
NGE is pursuing several new projects in the Health & Wellness arena. Among the nutraceutical and consumer offerings are new products utilizing the amazing Moringa tree. NGE is also exploring opportunities in the Medical Marijuana Industry in states where it is legal. To that end, they are meeting with several Native American organizations. More news will be released on these exciting business initiatives in the months ahead.
WHY INVEST in NGEY ?
Fast growing global interest in the aquaculture industry supports New Global Energy’s commitment to expanding it's sustainable fish farms. Indeed, aquaculture is an integral part of the company’s long-term growth strategy – and for good reason.
This summer, for example, Cargill Inc. agreed to spend $1.49 billion to buy a Norwegian fish-feed producer in a deal that represents its interest in the rapidly growing aquaculture business. The purchase positions Cargill as a leader in supplying food for fish farms as the company steps up activity in the industry.
“Fish is going to be an increasing part of the global provisioning of protein,” Marcel Smits, Cargill’s chief financial officer, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “We have every intention of playing in that domain.” His sentiments were echoed by Cargill President and CEO David MacLennan who said, “The acquisition is a strategic investment in our long-term growth and evidence of our commitment to the growing aquaculture industry.”
And according to the NOAA, the need for seafood is critical. “America’s aquaculture industry (both freshwater and marine) meets only five to seven percent of U.S. demand for seafood.”
Fortunately, New Global Energy’s Aqua Farming Tech business in California’s Coachella Valley owns three wells that produce all of the water the aquaculture business will likely ever need so California’s well publicized issues related to the drought are not an issue for the company. In addition, the fish on New Global’s farms are fed the superfood Moringa which adds to their nutritional value.
This is just one segment of it's rapidly expanding business. As the story of this company begins to hit the streets, we feel that an increase in exposure will take place along with a demand for shares in the company. As investors position themselves in NGEY, the small outstanding share count will be absorbed rather quickly. It's basic supply/demand at that point.
It just makes common sense to get a position early."
