Talking about my Fidelity IRA.
You definitely made a strong point for me contacting Fidelity about my 2015 IRA withdrawal.
I told the Rep at Fidelity that I wanted it to count as my 2015 withdrawal.
I am one to usually double check all transactions of this type.
Somehow, somewhere in their system, it was marked as my 2016 withdrawal.
When I called Yesterday, I explained to the Gentleman that I turned 71 in October of 2015.
He then told me He needed to check something out and put me on Hold.
He returned to the Phone and told me that Fidelity screwed it up somewhere and I still had until April to claim my 2015 Withdrawal.
That really got me upset.
I told the dude that I specifically told the agent it had to be for 2015 already.
They are now in the process of making the change.
I told Him also that I have until December 31st to make my 2016 withdrawal.
When They get this straightened out[Tuesday, I hope] then I can go to their website to print out the 1099.
He said that I definitely needed to take that 1099 to my Tax preparer and report it this Year.
I want to personally thank You and all the others who participated in this IRA withdrawal discussion.
It is indeed appreciated!
