We've established that vaping is not necessarily good for you, which does exactly nothing to determine whether it deserves a place in fashion week's Hall of Faves along with champagne and complimentary milk-free protein milks that somehow contain only 30 calories. Perhaps the reason vapes insist on infiltrating presentations and runway shows—Richard Chai and Opening Ceremony have both bestowed them upon VIP guests in recent seasons—is precisely because they're considered kind of lame, allowing the act of vaping to take on a self-referential irony. Or maybe vape companies are just super generous sponsors. Who knows!
Anyway, the vapes sported by the models at General Idea's New York Fashion Week: Men's show yesterday actually looked pretty cool, I guess. They weren't used for dope smoke tricks but rather clutched in a low-key manner by men wearing double denim separates, camel sweaters, and slouchy overalls. The Cut reports that they're made by Innokin, which sells vapes like the "Cool Fire IV Plus" for a very cool and fire price of $64.99. Regardless of where you come down on vaping, it's certainly not the most expensive way to get your hands on a fresh-off-the-runway accessory. We hear they also pair well with Armani and Atlantic salmon.
