First, let me say "thank you" for your service to our country and specifically to the residents of northeast Georgia. You are much appreciated! I am writing to implore you to investigate the FAA's handling of Baltia Airlines in its attempt to gain certification. A recent media report alleges serious misconduct at the FAA in an attempt to delay or discourage the certification of Baltia airlines. If true, I cannot believe congress would refuse to take action.
Baltia Airlines has worked for years to gain certification and begin nonstop service between New York and St. Petersburg, Russia, a service that is not currently available through any other airline. Currently, Baltia is attempting to pass a mini-evacuation demonstration. It is an exercise that takes less than a minute to complete. Yet, the FAA has taken months to determine if the most recent attempt was a pass or fail.
Now, with news out alleging intentional misconduct by the FAA to hinder or stop Baltia's certification, the lengthy delay makes more sense. Is there anything you or our Congress can do to require the FAA be accountable in this situation? I have much more information that I can share but know that you have much on your plate already. Feel free to contact me if you'd like additional information.
Thanks so much for your time and may God bless your efforts in protecting our Constitution and the future of our country!
