Carly Fiorina has dropped out of the presidential race, and no group of people could possibly be happier than those who work for and support Planned Parenthood. Fiorina’s lies about seeing babies having their brains harvested were relentless and cruel. She went out of her way to be the right-wing’s matriarch against women’s health care.

In the waning months of her campaign, Fiorina decided that the publicity she got surrounding the David Daleiden/ Center for Medical Progress fiction passed off as some kind of investigative journalism was worth the risk. She wanted to be the woman who defeated abortion when women don’t want abortion to be defeated.

America is still very much pro-choice. While the BS activism from the right has amped up the number of people whose emotions have been messed with in order to win votes, in real life women want access to affordable health care options whether they’re planning a family, securing their future before planning a family or looking to make decisions that are based their own needs and not the needs of the bible belt.

Fiorina never got it. As a woman who made her way to a CEO position after surviving breast cancer, her story was actually sellable. As long as people never looked into the mess she turned the company into before they fired her she was good to go. Her crusade against abortion — in particular Planned Parenthood — was never going to work out well.

Planned Parenthood isn’t exactly sad to see her go. Her cruel accusations and that mean look on her face as she stared into a camera to defend her lies brought more unnecessary attention to a non-existent “scandal” than the rhetoric of any other candidate. Today, Planned Parenthood got to say goodbye to a woman whose relevance just went in the toilet:
