Medicare. But what has that got to do with the reforms I mentioned which now apply to all health insurance?

I do know a couple of people who lost jobs and who had what would have become disqualifying pre-existing conditions when re-hired.

So they didn't have to pay outrageous COBRA costs, they signed up on an exchange and they enrolled in their new company plan when eligible.
