However, it's a useless fact to be frank. In the last 8 years, we had a recession. After the recession ended, recently, naturally the unemployment rate will be at its lowest point when it's naturally came from its highest point 8 years ago.
Not so 'recently':

The Great Recession officially began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, which determines the start and end dates of U.S. recessions based on a range of economic indicators
Not a useless fact in political context. Romney said he'd get the rate down to 6% by the end of his first term. and Republicans have incessantly predicted dire consequences for job creation from Obamacare and the tax increase on the very top bracket.
What we're seeing is anything but 'natural' to those who predicted based upon political bias/wishful thinking rather than economic reality.
So the 4.9% is a handy shorthand for Republicans don't know sh*t about economics or job creation!
See Bush tax cuts, unfunded Iraq war, unfunded Medicare D Bill and new job creation as the 'lab experiment' that supports my snark.
Other 'labs'? WI, NE, LA
