The bid gets hit, yet the bid stays the same. What does this mean?
One of two things..
1) Someone is hiding their large bid for millions and swallowing up shares only showing a 10k bid through NITE. More than likely this wold be the MM's trying to cover their short position.
2) The MM's swapped some shares at the bid to make it look like someone sold when in fact they didn't. Why would they do this? Again another trick to scare people into selling into their bid so that they may cover without going wild at the offer.
Buy orders are being hidden and this is not something that happens on the retail level. So ask yourself, who's hiding their buy orders on the bid and why?
