There was a depression in 1893 and there were various panics. None of them are as you've described. At no time does it reflect a massive exit of issues.
There was a "long depression" that lasted 23 years from 1873-1896. But that occurred in the UK, rather than the U.S. Ironically, it was called the Great Depression until the real Great Depression of 1929 took place which was unlike anything that had ever been seen before.
