no, they came up with the snowflake design NOT because of facebook's advertsing policies but because many of the larger chains do not want an MJ leaf on their store shelves because of the negative connotation that is still associated with MJ.
as soon as all of these old fogies die off, then maybe things will change where expression of an MJ leaf is seen as something just as common as soap is in a bathroom.
but for now, that "reefer madness" mentality is still deeply entrenched.
