A hillbilly boy
needed to get a pig, a chicken, and a bucket to the market on his mule. He put the bucket on his head, the pig under one arm, the chicken under the other and got on the mule.
There was a shortcut by a beautiful shallow stream where the sun was glistening off the small pebbles. The birds were singing their love songs, the trees had just burst with leaves in all their spring fury and the flowers were in full bloom.
He noticed a pretty hillbilly girl walking along behind, so he asked her if she would like to take the shortcut and ride to the market with him.
She said “No, Mama told me about you hillbilly boys, that you would get me down there and hug me, and squeeze me and try to kiss me.”
The hillbilly boy said “How could I do that? I’ve got a pig under one arm, a chicken under the other and I’m sitting on a mule with a bucket on my head.”
The hillbilly girl said “You could tie the mule to a tree, put the bucket over the chicken and I’ll hold the pig.”
