20 years ago I was an Engineer for GE Healthcare in Boston MA implementing the networking 5 of the main hospitals for the new PACS System (Patient Archival and Storage) for Diagnostic Imaging. I walked into the IT Vault of the installation with all of the rack mounted servers. Interestingly I noticed the left half of the rack's were "Apple Servers" and the right half was "Wintel based Servers" . At that time there were 60 servers of each. I asked our installation project manager why that was the case ? His response " We prefer the Apple platform, however, we are unsure at this point that Apple will be a viable company going forward and we cannot afford to have the whole PACS venture go off line" .
My point here, is many of the display Mfg's vying to proceed with developing production , went with the best they thought at that time. I am sure the other QD Mfg's did their utmost in providing the best deal at that time and "SECURE" their business long term, with NDA's and Contracts. The talk on the street was "They liked QMC, but were unsure if QMC was going to be Viable going forward"
Along comes QTMM with "Cadmium Free QD's" being oxidation and moisture resistant with "Solid Red, Green, Blue (RGB). Then released 500 Degree and Cadmium Free QD's
A Game Changer to say the very least
Introduce the MoHs restriction beginning in Europe then to Asia. It is a "Global Effort" to eliminate Cadmium from all production that is for public consumption.
I am totally on board with that "Cadmium is Nasty Stuff"
I am of the opinion that this is just the beginning of many agreements with display Mfg's while others are trying to "Unhook Previous Agreements" and proceed with the better product. I cannot wait to see what the future unfolds, but I think that it will be "OUTSTANDING"
