St. John Dentist to Attend Prestigious Dental Implant Training

ST. JOHN, IN --(Marketwired - January 25, 2016) - Dr. Scott Kapers, a leading northern Indiana cosmetic dentist, will attend a dental implant seminar sponsored by a world-leading implantology organization.

Dr. Kapers, who operates two Creating Smiles' locations, places dental implants for patients missing teeth or those who need to stabilize their dentures. Dr. Kapers travels across the country each year to progress his training in dental implant placement and restoration.

The upcoming dental implant seminar hosted by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists will take place in Miami from Feb. 12-14. Attending dentists will learn about the best placement for dental implants to enhance soft tissue healing and bone grafting, implant restoration and immediate-load implant placement.

"Today we can place dental implants to resolve a variety of dental problems, and we continue to find ways that allow our patients to quickly heal," Dr. Kapers said. "The goal with any dental implant procedure is to improve the smile while giving patients their bite back."

Dental implants, which are made from titanium, nearly mimic natural teeth and preserve the jawbone. Dr. Kapers can restore dental implants with individual durable crowns or full dentures.

Dr. Kapers has spent the past several years studying dental implants as a way to restore patients' smiles. Most recently, Dr. Kapers trained in placing and restoring All-on-4 dental implants. These dental implants can be restored with full arches of permanent teeth that leave the upper palate open.

"The more I study dental implants, the more I'm convinced they are one of the best things to happen in dentistry," Dr. Kapers said. "People in our community with missing teeth can visit our office to determine if dental implants can improve their oral health and overall health."

Creating Smiles is a two-office practice that provides comprehensive dental services to children and adult patients. Dr. Kapers focuses on sedation dentistry and implant dentistry. Most of Dr. Kapers' dedicated staff have been with him for more than 15 years.

Dr. Kapers earned his dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He started Creating Smiles in 1993 and has completed hundreds of hours in continuing education. He offers comprehensive dentistry services, including dental implants and sedation options for fearful patients or those who need multiple dental treatments. Dr. Kapers received training in Botox and dermal fillers from the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists for dental implants.

Dr. Kapers' associate, Dr. Ornelas, also earned his dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Ornelas, a Crown Point native, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.

The Creating Smiles St. John location, 8217 Wicker Ave., is open from Monday through Saturday. The Valparaiso location, 2262 Morthland Dr., is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
