If Mr. Heddle announces another extension without any updates as to the unlikelihood of a sale ever being completed then it's clear he's still trying to lead investors into believing that everything is still on track, only delayed.
My thought is that Mr. Heddle will just run the processors for that pilot run and create some hoopla ("the results are better than we expected," "amazing product," "EcoNav is excited," etc...) to get more investors buying. Many patient investors still have strong faith in the company and a press release like that would certainly boost their sentiment. That could carry the company through 2016 until investors' hopes get dampened again.
