Many studios are reluctant to provide such rights for fear of giving Netflix too much leverage in future negotiations. Warner Bros. is particularly wary of a one-size-fits-all global deal with Netflix, people familiar with the company’s thinking said.
Netflix content head Ted Sarandos reiterated the streaming service’s global aspirations but also acknowledged reluctance from Hollywood studios. He called the current studio model of selling shows individually to markets around the world a “discriminatory patchwork” that confounds “common sense and human happiness.”
One studio executive countered that Netflix is trying to undermine a business model that is best for the bottom line of production companies and its shareholders.
Sounds like UltraFlix model to me...anyone's guess?
