Ford Motor Co.'s European new-vehicle sales rose 10% in 2015 as the Detroit auto maker continues to see rising demand there.
Ford sold 1.5 million new vehicles across 50 European markets. In its 20 traditional European markets, where it is represented through national sales companies, sales rose 11% to 1.3 million.
The auto maker saw a second year of market share growth there, edging up 0.1 percentage point to 8%.
Ford also said it became the region's top commercial vehicle brand—a position it hasn't held in 18 years—with demand for its Transit vans and Ranger pickup propelling 23% sales growth.
The company said that in 2016, it expects to offer a full range of SUVs, which have been driving North American sales records. Ford anticipates surpassing 200,000 SUV sales in Europe for the first time, for growth of more than 30% in 2016.
